Project Description: Developed in 2012, 1221 Broadway Lofts exemplifies adaptive reuse and urban revitalization in San Antonio’s River North District. This mixed-use development transformed a neglected structure into a thriving hub of 307 industrial-style loft apartments, alongside retail and office spaces. Designed by Lake|Flato Architects in partnership with OCO Architects, the complex features an industrial aesthetic with large aluminum-framed windows and polished concrete floors. With five landscaped courtyards and sustainability-focused features, 1221 Broadway Lofts has become a cornerstone of the area’s revitalization, contributing significantly to the cultural and urban landscape.
